Cute covered bridge across the small canal to the street

Atwood, Kansas, just an overnight

We were on our way to South Dakota and needed a quick stop overnight. We mapped out our route and looked for some possible stops, but we were driving the smaller not-as-popular road but were lucky to find a small city park in the small town of Atwood, Kansas.

The Atwood Lions RV Park is in the center of town and has about 9 back-in spots on the pavement. The spots are close and most are not long enough for big rigs, (we are 40 ft), but there are a couple that could accommodate us.

There is no reservation system, just come into town and go to the convenience store across the street to pay the $30/night fee.

It sits on a small lake, with a paved sidewalk almost all the way around, along with an outdoor stage that is used for activities throughout the summer.

Great overnight stop!
